Accreditation and Licensing
GIA is a nonprofit, private, postsecondary educational institution incorporated for the purpose of promoting education and research in gemology, jewelry manufacturing arts and related subjects.
The Graduate Gemologist® program offered through GIA Hong Kong is registered with the Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) under Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance (Cap. 493).
GIA’s eLearning courses and lab classes are accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). DEAC accreditation is institutional in nature and includes GIA’s eLearning courses and lab classes.
